Your Gmail email account can be configured to send and receive e-mail using Outlook 2007. This offers some advantages since many of you enjoy the use of a free e-mail account like Gmail, however, still enjoy Outlook’s interface.

To send and receive e-mail from Outlook 2007 using your Gmail e-mail account is a two step process. Firstly, you must change some settings on your Gmail account to use the Post Office Protocol, also called POP. The second step is to configure Outlook 2007 where you add a new account and configure this new account to communicate with Google’s email servers, the end result is the ability to send and receive e-mail using Outlook 2007.
